Patlabor Movies

Postby Snake-Eyes » Sat Feb 06, 2010 6:11 pm

I wouldn't mind seeing the Patlabor movies (the first two, I don't care for the third one, but if you wanna go for the complete set, feel free.) released. I've seen a 1080p release, but I'm not sure if it was a BR-Rip or HDTV-Rip, and I don't think there's been a R1 BR release. Both Bandai and Manga English-audio streams would be awesome, if possible.

Damnit, you stole my request! :P

Oh well, its all good. Patlabor movies 1-3 have Japanese Blu-Ray releases. There are no R1 BD releases, only R1 DVDs according to RightStuf, don't know if OZC has them already or not. I've heard great things about these movies, some of the best anime movies ever according to one ANNcast. I haven't seen them yet, so I this is one thing I would really like to see for the first time as an OZC release. Plus, it's mecha, so it's imparative that we give it a proper dual-audio, BD release ;)

What's the status of the TV shows/OVAs? I've never seen any of them.

I don't know, neither have I lol.

But according to this LIST, we'd have to watch the 7 episode OVA first to understand the story.

I understood them just fine without the OVAs, so take that as you will. I'd like to see the whole set done, but I'd certainly settle for the movies.

I'm sure I would too, like most anime movies, they're probably made to be able to stand alone to an extent. But still, I'd like to be hunt down the OVAs and watch those first to get a better feel for the entire series.

Agreed. I'd love to see 'em.

But anyway, tl;dr: The movies are awesome. OZC should do up a set.

Doubt it. I'd assume it's like GitS Movies vs GitS SAC.

Been ages since I've seen the first one, but the second comes across as very Tom Clancy-ish.
