Code Geass R1 batch openings/endings 0 bytes file size

Hi

I had used the Code Geass R1 Batch torrent to download the openings and ending credits and after they had finished in utorrent and I did a fore re-check on the files to ensure that they were correct. However when I went to the folders containing the files I noticed that when I right clicked on them the normal rename, copy, delete options were missing and I am no longer able to open or modify the files.


The file size is showing correctly in the details that appear in the left panel of windows explorer however when I get the properties of the file using the file->properties menu it is showing as zero bytes. Also the type, icon and creation dates are empty and I am unable to rename or view files.

I have tried using command line and listing the files directory contents and file size is correct. Though it might have been due to an invalid character so tried using dos rename command to rename the file however the dos window crashes with an error when I try this. Running XP.

Was just wondering if anyone else has come across this issue with the openings/endings of the torrent. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

try restarting the torrent in a new directory and dl just the OP/ED again and see if you still have this same issue. this is very odd and it sounds like you know a hell of alot more than i do about computers and operating systems so there isnt any technical advice i could think i can give you.

OH have you tried to actually run the files? if they run than it will be even more bizarre.

also you could try getting it from qriist's live drive if all else fails.

Tried restarting files in a different folder but encountered the same issue. Used the a third party application to check filename compatibility which flagged the names as being too long or containing invalid characters. Was able to use this to rename the files and they are now working as normal.

Hey how deep in the file system did you download it to? It seems that your problem is that you hit the windows character limit for a path + filename.

Yes your right turns out I hit the 259 character limit for filename + path.

I had the torrent set to download into the a single folder inside my documents so the path was already 65 characters.

However when I started the torrent to download the program then created a directory structure matching the subfolders which existed in the torrent file to save the opening/ending files to. This resulted in the folder structure below being created which is 197 characters long and being added to the initial 65 character length.

As a result the length ended up being 262 characters which pushed the file 3 characters above the allowed limit in windows causing the issue.
